After a night on bus and one suspicious bus change (in Istanbul I was sold a ticket for non-existent line and so they had to create it for me) I reached Fethiye. Well known summer resort in southern Turkey. It is full of tourists, foreigners as well as Turks. They all go for two- or three- or four- or fivedays cruises with boat stopping at historical monuments and beaches. I did not. I went to abandoned Greek village Kaya Köyü [WIKI] instead. In 1922 Turks made Greeks leave (or to be precise they made them leave from all Turkey) and nobody moved in after that. Today you can see there about four hundred half ruined houses, two churches, chapel on the hill and one – half-ruined – school.
From Kaya Köyü [WIKI] I walked over the hills to Ölüdeniz [WIKI]. Probably the most famous beach in Turkey, its picture being on every sea and sun and sand holiday brochure. On the way I got lost twice: once a little and once a little more. But two and half hour later I got to Ölüdeniz [WIKI], had a look at the beach, did not swim.
On the way there and back I went through Hisaronu a Ovacık, seaside resorts without the sea which is few kilometrs away. It is real hell. Even local Turks working in tourist industry believe that something like that was not supposed to happed. Ever.
