Leonardo diCaprio. Russel Croew. Terrorists. Love story and date in a Palestinian refuge camp. Iraq. Action. Spy games. Jordan secret service. It probably could not end up well. Not even with Ridley Scott as a director.
Leonardo is a CIA agent, Crowe is his boss. They hunt terrorists in Iraq and then in Jordan and are investigating a new terrorist cell responsible for bomb attacks all over Europe. Leonardo sometimes (often) does not agree with Crowe and would like to solve things in different manner. Ridley Scott can make movies. Body of Lies only proves it. Each scene is amazing and works perfectly. But they do not work together. Each of them is from different movie. From spy drama to love story. What's more, the characters – Leonardo especially – quite oftem behave stupid and you just do not believe it.
When watching Body of Lies other two movies come to mind. The Kingdom [IMDB] by Peter Berg and one of previous Scott's pieces: Black Hawk Down [IMDB]. Sadly, Body of Lies doesn't come even close to any of these.
