There is a four-screen cinema multiplex in Multan. They screen Pakistani and Indian movies and the biggest hall with proud DTS plate above the entrance latest (that is three years old) holywood blockbusters. As Mr. And Mrs. Smith [IMDB] or Bourne Ultimatum [IMDB]. Ticket says that admission fee is Rs 70 but in reality they charge only Rs 30 (about 40 US cents).

I went to see Mr. And Mrs. Smith, starting at 4pm. DTS plate turned to be purely decorative as the sound was so terrible that I had no idea what the characters were saying almost all the time (movie was screened with original English sountrack and no subtitles). Projection was wicked. Film was going faster and then slower, getting darker and lighter, picture was skewed. And they did skip the middle hour of a movie. As if the thing was not directed by ordinary Doug Liman [IMDB] but artist David Lynch [IMDB].

Multan, The Most Dusty City In The World

Multan looks as it just heaved itself up from the dust and it must be the most dusty place in the world. If not, it certainly is the most dusty place I have seen. More

Mehr Express Boldly Goes Where No One Has Gone Before

From Multan to Islamabad I could get only on one train – Multan Express. There were no AC carriages, there was a sleeper however. It went through the remotest places along the North-West Frontier Province border. More
