Warm. Quiet. Soft carpet. Muted lighting. Two rows of capsules stacked on top of each other along a corridor two meters wide. I am not in Tokyo anymore. I am on board of Nostromo space ship. In the dark corners Aliens may be lurking.

Capsules are about 1 x 1 x 2 m in size. You can't stand up but you can sit quite comfortably.

Yokoso! Japan

Angry Godzilla does not run around Tokyo bitting off skyscrapers. Everything else you heard about Japan is probably true. It looks exactly as I imagined. That never happened before. Well, maybe it is because I read too much manga and watched too much anime. More

Heated Toilet Seats

Not only that traffic lights and parks talk in Japan. They have toilets with heated seats. Better models can even lift up the seat themselves. All have bidet that extends itself from beneath the seat when you press the right button. More
