Home > Notebook > One Of Those Days… In Ooty

Tags:

Toy train to Ooty in Tamil Nadu was pulled by steam engine. Swiss rack system. Gradients of 1 in 12. The trip was not as spectacular as the one from Shimla, however. I sat on the side with less view. I had to get up at half past five to catch the train. So I slept through half of the journey. Damn. And I did it – Ooty and all – just because of that train.

Unthinkable anywhere else in India. Couples hold hands, here and there fleeting kiss. Pubs and bars where you see girls drinking beer, no problem. More
